Initiatives
Asteria organises a series of activities, usually periodic, in the form of conferences, colloquia, workshops, and seminars.
These activities have a specific budget to cover minimal protocol expenses—moderately priced meals, coffee, tea—as well as any other unforeseen expenses (with prior authorisation from the Presidency and Secretariat). Whenever possible, efforts will be made to secure external funding for Asteria through public or private financial aid and, when deemed appropriate, registration fees. Upon completion of the activity, a report on the event and its academic and financial impact must be submitted to the Board of Directors.
Asteria seminars are initiatives directly proposed by the Board of Directors. However, members of the Association can also propose an Asteria seminar. To do so, they must draft a proposal (detailing the activity’s theme, its academic relevance, its connection to Asteria, and a budget estimate) and send it to the Secretariat (asteriamyth.sec@gmail.com). The call is open, and applications can be submitted at any time of the year.
