The issue of MuseMedusa is dedicated to the critical readings of the reprises and reappropriations of the Antigone myth, from the 19th century to the contemporary productions, and focuses on the question of the place of the dead in its double dimension: the invisible and the political, in particular that which ensures a role for the former at the heart of the latter. The contributions should revolve around the issue of the representation of death and mourning. Theatre, opera, fiction, poetry, visual arts, film, dance, music, hypermediatic literature, as well as political philosophy and psychoanalytic anthropology can be approached, without the restriction of language or cultural origin. The authors should see to address the esthetic dimension of the recastings of the myth : what type of discourses does Antigone produce (vociferation, lament, prayer, discursive reflection), what kind of images and figures does she generate?
